About Us

The ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÜÕ¾ Office of Global Health Equity works across each of the ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÜÕ¾vision imperatives:

  • Education: To drive global health policy change and implementation, ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÜÕ¾prioritizes the internationalization of the ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÜÕ¾curricula to successfully train undergraduate, graduate and medical students.
  • Research: Evolving demographic, political and globalization contexts continue to drive MSM’s focus on addressing the health and social issues of immigrant and refugee populations throughout the State of Georgia.
  • Clinical Healthcare: ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÜÕ¾students, doctors, faculty, and staff are continuously collaborating with fellow health scientists and treating patients locally and in Africa, Asia, Central America, and the Caribbean.
  • Service: ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÜÕ¾students, doctors, faculty, and staff working in underserved global communities, learn culturally-competent communication and care.

Office Objectives:

  • To facilitate innovative research, service opportunities, and health professions education; 

  • To build sustainable partnerships to advance health equity, reduce global burden of diseases, and address global development issues;

  • To develop, teach, and evaluate culturally relevant interdisciplinary curricula for diverse learners that drive global health policy change and implementation.   

The establishment of the ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÜÕ¾Office of Global Health will help to improve the health care provided to Georgia immigrant and refugee populations and improve the cultural competency of our ºÚÁϳԹÏ×ÜÕ¾learners and healthcare providers.
